Informal Early Language Assessment Tool for SLPs | MLU Calculator | Brown's Stages | Let's Talk Communication Stages | Language Sample Analysis | IEP Goals
A structured way to analyze a language sample, identify where a child is in their language development, and explain it to families in plain language — all in one session.
This browser-based informal early language assessment tool for pediatric SLPs combines two frameworks: a Mean Length of Utterance (MLU) calculator with automatic Brown's Stage I-V matching, and an observational checklist for the Let's Talk Communication Stages (Observer, Engager, Talker, Combiner, and Converser).
Enter utterances from your language sample and watch MLU calculate in real time with a built-in morpheme counting reference. The tool matches Brown's Stage automatically at 10+ utterances and identifies the child's working Let's Talk stage at 90% checklist completion — then suggests 5 IEP-ready goals for that stage with one click.
