The
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) recognizes CART as an assistive
technology affording effective communication access. Real-time captioning
(CART) can benefit individuals and groups in many settings,
including:

- Health Care
TSS offers this service to
individuals, organizations, institutions, and businesses throughout the State
of Wisconsin. TSS provides Captioned Theater (U.S. patent pending), an
excellent way to experience live theater performances.
Staff:
TSS's stenocaptioners are
nationally certified through the National Association of Court Reporters (NCRA). They
utilize a stenotype machine, notebook computer, and real-time captioning
software to display instant speech-to-text translation via a laptop
computer, video monitor, multiple monitors, or other display units.
Staff
are fully insured under TSS's professional liability and workers'
compensation insurance policies. All have successfully completed a criminal
background check through the Department of Justice of the State of
Wisconsin.
Availability: TSS's Real-time captioning can be arranged 24
hours a day every day throughout the State of Wisconsin, although evening,
weekend, and legal holiday assignments are billed at a higher rate. Last minute
calls are always accepted, and we will do our best to help you! But we do
charge a "late call fee" for service requested 24 hours or less prior to the
stated need.
Fees: Time is billed in fifteen-minute segments on a
portal-to-portal basis. Dictionary preparation required to provide
quality service is billed separately. Disks containing the transcription in
several different formats may be purchased for an additional fee. The use of
specialized equipment may require additional charges assessed
individually.
Some
assignments may require the services of two or more stenocaptioners with each
one's service billed for on-site work, set-up, and, when applicable, dictionary
preparation, and/or disk clean-up.
Service
must be canceled two full business days prior to the scheduled appointment to
avoid a cancellation fee. Contact
