Who We Are |
Our Objective:
To provide high quality
interpreting, CART real-time stenocaptioning, and speech therapy services to
individuals, agencies, institutions, and businesses.
What We Do:
The Speech Source, Inc.
is an agency providing clinical and support staff on an as-needed basis. The
staff includes speech therapists; interpreters for the deaf, hard of hearing,
and deaf blind; interpreters for individuals with limited English proficiency
(LEP); and CART captioners.
TSS provides interpreting, CART
real-time stenocaptioning, and speech therapy services on-site in a variety of
settings.
Our Experience:
The president and owner of
TSS, Ellen-Marie Silverman, has been a tenured university professor and
a member of several university faculties.
She has authored or co-authored more than
forty articles in professional publications, one textbook, two chapters in
textbooks, and one middle-reader novel, Jason's Secret. She has
been a post-doctoral fellow in Developmental Psycholinguistics at the
University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign), and holds the Ph.D. and M.A.
degrees in Speech Pathology from the University of Iowa along with a
B.S. degree in Speech Pathology from the University of
Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Dr. Silverman is licensed to practice
Speech-Language Pathology in the State of Wisconsin and holds the
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology awarded
by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She is a Fellow of
that organization. Currently, she is a member of the American
Speech-Language-Hearing Association, American Translators Association,
The National Court Reporters' Association, The Registry of Interpreters
for the Deaf, The Wisconsin Chapter of the Registry of Interpreters for
the Deaf, The Wisconsin Speech-Language-Hearing Association,
Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, and Sigma Xi.
All of
TSS' staff are skilled, experienced, credentialed caring individuals who
are committed to providing quality service. All are fully insured through the
company's professional liability and workers' compensation insurance policies.
And all have completed a criminal background check through the Department of
Justice of the State of Wisconsin.
